Widdle and Middle Wardens

The California Wildlife Officers Foundation (CalWOF) is dedicated to supporting Wildlife Officers and their families. CalWOF will again offer the “Widdle Warden” program for officers with children aged 5 or younger and the “Middle Warden” program for those with children aged 6 to 13. In 2023, 97 kids benefited from these programs, and for 2024, the support is increased from $225 to $300 per program. Each eligible family can receive up to $600, and the payment is taxable as 2024 income. To apply, follow the link below.

What is a "Widdle or Middle Warden"

“WIDDLE WARDENS” – Each warden family with a child (or children) aged 5 or younger at home will be offered $300. Each family with children in this age range will be offered one (1) $300 offering.
“MIDDLE WARDENS” – Each warden family with a child (or children) aged 6 to 13 at home will be offered $300. Each family with children in this age range will be offered one (1) $300 offering.
Wildlife Officers can receive one payment per program with a maximum of $600 per family.  One check will be issued for those applying for both the ‘widdle’ and ‘middle warden programs. It is important to note that the payment will be taxable as 2024 income. Nevertheless, CalWOF hopes that this financial support will prove beneficial to Warden families. The child’s age will be based on the date of the initial application.
