CalWOF Expands Support for Warden Families Through "Widdle Warden" and "Middle Warden" Programs in 2025

As part of California Wildlife Officers Foundation’s (CalWOF) mission to support Wildlife Officers and their families, CalWOF is again offering the “Widdle Warden” and “Middle Warden” programs!

In 2023, the Widdle Warden program was introduced as a way for the Foundation to recognize the unique challenges Wildlife Officers face when trying to protect our resources while raising young children 5 years of age and younger. The success of the program led to the creation of the Middle Warden program, established to support warden families that have a child at home 6 years of age to 13 years of age.  The programs were able to benefit the families of 71 wildlife officers in 2024!

In 2025, CalWOF has increased the amount of support offered from $300 per program in 2024 to $325 per program. Each eligible family can receive up to $650, which must be claimed as income on your 2025 taxes.

If you would like to utilize this resource, please submit your request to Amanda Warner either via email to [email protected] or mail to CalWOF, P.O. Box 865, San Carlos, CA 94070. Please include the following in your request:

  1. First names and birthdates of your children
  2. Completed Form W-9 (W-9 form attached to this email)

NOTE:  If you have submitted the W-9 form in a previous year a new W-9 is only needed if you have changed your address or are new to the programs.

You can enroll at any time during the year, but we encourage you to complete the application by the end of April. The sooner the better.
